On the March 12, in Saint-Petersburg in Tavricheskiy Palace the first session of the Expert Council in Economics at the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly was held.
The session was visited by the following representatives of the CIS – Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belorussia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan in Russia.
The key agenda was economic state in CIS region and priority issues of the economic development of the CIS.
The leading speakers were Maksimtsev I.A., the rector of St. Petersburg State Economic University, the head the Expert Council in Economics at the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly; Krotov M.I., the Chief of Staff of the Committee of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on CIS; Miropolskiy D.Yu., the head of the Department of General Economic Theory and History of Economics. Kobitskiy D.A., acting Ganeral Secretary greeted the participants.
“Today we are concentrating on actual economic state of the CIS. We consider either economic potentiality implementation of each state in particular or implementation integral potentiality from the point of resources and reserves” – these words belong to I. Maksimtsev.
The members and the guests of the Expert Council discussed topical issues of integral cooperation of the states – the CIS, including prolonged development, economic and other types of security.
While session Goncharov V.V., being the Head of the Centre of Systemic Ananlysis and Strategy Investigations at the National Library of Belorussia, was elected as the vice-chairman of the head the Expert Council in Economics at the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly. Waganov A.A., in his turn, being the head of the Department of Model Legislation Providing in the sphere of state building and economic of the Secretariat Council at the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, was also elected as the Executive Secretary.
In 2015 the Secretariat Council at the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly and St. Petersburg State Economic University made a cooperation agreement of mutual cooperation. One of the priority directions is the expert evaluation of the model executive projects in economics and other spheres.
In 2017 in St. Petersburg State Economic University the Department of the Secretariat Council at the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly – the Department of Eurasian Integration was established where scientific and congress activity is held.
In July 2017 St. Petersburg State Economic University referred to the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the Chairman of the Interparlametary Assembly Council, Matvienko V.I., with the initiative to consider the question of establishment of Expert Council at the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly which will be functioning with the aim of cooperation of the CIS at Interparliamentary Assembly on issues of improvement of the model legislative base in the economic sphere.
In October 2017 the Expert Council in Economics at the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly was founded based on the decision of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly Council.
In November 2018 rector of the St. Petersburg State Economic University, I.A. Maksimtsev, was affirmed as the Chairman of the Expert Council in Economics based on the decision of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly Council as well.
